Running from September 21 to 26, it ran alongside NATMALL, the largest exhibition dedicated to commercial property and entertainment infrastructure, held on September 22. Mikhail Vladimirovich Danilov built his fortune in the tobacco sector in the 1990s, growing his company, Biznes-Tabak, into a chain of stores with hundreds of points of sale and turnover of up to $200 million by the mid-2000s. Once he sold the tobacco business, he shifted his focus to nightlife.
Through the holding company Sagrado Corp., the Danilov family developed a vast network of nightlife venues in Moscow extending across more than two dozen locations. These have encompassed the legendary Rai, as well as Icon, Gipsy, Mutabor and Mix Afterparty. Mutabor attracted widespread attention following a series of high-profile events. The venue was subsequently renamed Arma and eventually announced its closure.
Discussing the scale of his operations in an interview with Forbes Russia, Danilov pointed to Stadium Live as the company's flagship venue: "Stadium Live, which mostly hosts club-rock events, accommodates up to 7,500 people. I think this venue will be Moscow's number one this autumn both in terms of the caliber of performers playing there and the number of concerts — we are planning no fewer than 20 events a month." He also presented himself as deeply involved in the music scene: "I truly love techno music, I go with real pleasure to our DJ imports at Insomnia, I am personally acquainted with many artists and DJs."
Most of the legal entities connected with the holding company are listed in the name of Danilov's daughter, Maria, rather than Danilov himself. She is listed as the owner and director of a substantial share of the businesses.
